Amanda Lucier

Amanda Lucier is a documentary and editorial photographer who focuses on agriculture, the intersections of urban and rural communities, and the American West.

She is the recipient of numerous grants and recognitions including POYi’s Newspaper or Special Series, First Place, Portrait, First Place, the Slover Award for Outstanding Photography, the New York Times Year in Photos, Women Photograph, Photos of the year, and a semi-finalist for the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize, among others.

Lucier graduated Phi Betta Kappa with a BA in political science and American Studies from Reed College, and hold a MA in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri. She is frequently commissioned by the New York Times. She has one forthcoming monograph, “Tidewater”, scheduled for 2026.
